Printing better medicines, layer by layer.
We are Laxxon Medical. Our patented SPID® technology prints tablets from water-based pastes, one thin layer at a time, so every active ingredient can sit in its own compartment and be released when it is needed. Founded in 2017, we are based in New York and do our research and development in Jena, Germany.

You are looking at the manufacturing layer for oral biologics. That is a platform story, not a drug story.
Why we built a platform
Most companies in drug delivery own one product or one formulation trick. We own a way of making tablets. The same printers, the same pastes and the same know-how work across very different active ingredients, from levodopa for Parkinson’s disease to peptides such as GLP-1 receptor agonists.
That is why we run two pipelines at once: projects with pharmaceutical partners, and products of our own. Current programs cover Parkinson’s disease (LXM.5) and obesity (LXM.2, and enobosarm with Veru), with further work in epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, oncology, thromboembolism and ADHD. Beyond conventional tablets, SPID® can produce films, implants and transdermal patches.Freigabe prüfennur Firmenangabe, keine Daten veröffentlicht We are also developing multi-compartment microtablets smaller than 1 mm, buccal films and chewable tablets.Freigabe prüfennur aus internen Präsentationen

How we work with partners
Co-development
You bring the active ingredient. We bring formulation, development and GMP supply. Veru Inc. took this route for a modified-release version of enobosarm.
Advanced Patented Generics
We turn well-known active ingredients into new, patent-protected products, filed via 505(b)(2) in the US and as hybrid applications in the EU. The furthest along is LXM.5 for Parkinson’s disease.
Lifecycle management
For a product nearing patent expiry, we develop the next generation of the same drug, with patent protection of its own. PlatzhalterBeispiel oder „on request“
If you would rather print with SPID® yourself, we can license the technology to you.
Where we are today
Our levodopa/carbidopa tablets reach up to 3.8 times the levodopa exposure of Sinemet® in a preclinical study in pigs, published in Pharmaceutics.
Veru Inc. selects a modified-release enobosarm formulation developed with SPID® for its Phase 3 studies (Veru).
Our first GMP production printer is installed at Adare Pharma Solutions in Pessano, near Milan (announcement).
Evonik Venture Capital invests in Laxxon. Evonik polymers are part of our printing pastes (Evonik).
Laxxon is founded and secures the exclusive worldwide license to use Exentis’ 3D screen printing technology for pharmaceuticals.

Who we work with
Exentis Group in Switzerland developed the 3D screen printing technology we build on. Adare Pharma Solutions manufactures for us under GMP. Evonik supplies polymers for our pastes, and its venture arm is an investor. In research we work with Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, as well as Friedrich Schiller University JenaFreigabe prüfenJena nur als Logo auf der Partnerseite, nicht als Ko-Autor.
Our work is supported by the Free State of Thuringia, Thüringer Aufbaubank and the European Social Fund Plus.
